Christina Turnbow is selling her vrginity to the Marguess of Dane to pay the family's debts .He is the most depraved person and uses all women as whores.You will soon learn why he has become such a man . The sex scenes are very erotic and detailed I did not care for the bondage scences but there was a reason for them.. Dane tried to do everything he could to make Christina hate him but a love is unfolding between them. You can't stop reading till you see if from all he put her through if they will find true love. Please be aware this is not for people who don't want to read a book with sex in it.

A depraved hero falling head-over-heels for the heroine, but their journey to fulfillment is not a bed of roses By PunyaReviews I was looking for a diversion and Eliza Lloyd's "The Darkness in the Marquess of Dane" sounded like something that'd fit my mood. I was also quite ready to dismiss it as ‘another one of those Regency porn’ but the author made me realize that this novel is not as simple as that. Since this was my first book by Eliza, I had no prior expectations and quite delightfully discovered that I found something worth my time. Something I absolutely enjoyed. It had a more complex hero than I hoped to find, and a graceful and strong heroine who beat down the door to his depraved soul without even trying. Dane didn't quite grasp just how much he wanted to live after years of loosing himself into the darkness, not until he met Christina, and his long buried heart instantly recognized whom it wanted as it's savior. It should've been easy for them since Christina wanted him, fault and all, however, their journey to fulfillment wasn't a bed of roses. Not even close.I can't give away much without spoiling but if you're not squeamish and love a true dark, debauched hero falling head-over-heels for a woman anyone would truly admire, then this book is for you. For those who would like to be alerted, remember it's an erotic historical so there are plenty of all sorts of supremely hot sex scenes. Vast majority is between the H and h. It kept me captivated and pulled me in more than I expected. I thought I was just going to read a bit before going to bed, but instead I couldn't stop until I was done (fortunately it was short). Two things I will mention however: One, to the author: While I really like your writing and style, have another proofreader look at it. You have a few obvious typos (extra words that you forgot to delete, some misspellings - an autos "brake" is not spelled "break", etc). But readers, that's just for the author to know about so she can fix it and make an already wonderful story even easier to read - the mistakes are very infrequent and I still heartily recommend this story. She's a truly talented writer and I look forward to reading more of her stories. (One last thing, add a little more to the end. We think we know where it's going, but it would be so much more satisfying to read a few details on how they will go on, even if more about them comes in another book. I hate to call it a cliffhanger, but some might.

Good until the last chapter By Paul Badger I really wanted this to be a 5-star review but the book ended up disappointing me at the very end, which really lost it a star rating. It starts out very well, has some good character development, and even some fun and erotic scenes. But the last chapter just made me feel like it was a "hot mess" with the mixed message that our male lead LIKES what is happening and HATES what is happening. A different ending would have improved it a great deal.

Would have liked more to come.

I was deeply moved by many parts of this novel....and also learned so much about a war that is never talked about. The Viet Nam country and its people are described with such beauty and peace you can only imagine how this horrible war upset their existence. There is a part in the book that describes a commune of monks living peacefully and simply together while violence and bloodshed is all around them showing good and evil existing simultaneously. The author, Phillip Schuster is only 19 years old when he began serving his country and it's a personal journey spanning 46 years about faith, family and love of country. His personal accounts of his parents and siblings are very touching and inspirational. Many current servicemen and servicewomen can relate to his experience of depending and bonding with your fellow soldiers for survival and then making adjustments back to civilian life and the emotional turmoil that unfolds. This book is more than just a tragic war novel....it's a labor of love and often educational and humorous at times, which can promote healing to those who are possibly hurting from any traumatic incident or loss.

About the Author Robert Slater was born in New York City on October 1, 1943, and grew up in South Orange, New Jersey. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1962 and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 1966, where he majored in political science. He received a masters of science degree in international relations from the London School of Economics in 1967. Slater was Yitzhak Rabin's official biographer, from his first term as prime minister of Israel. Slater was a longtime journalist, working for years as the Times correspondent in Israel and later as a reporter for United Press International (UPI). Slater also wrote biographies about some of the giants of politics and business, including Moshe Dayan, Golda Meir, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Jack Welch, and George Soros.
