Sam Gendler, a successful businessman and electronics engineer decides at midlife to fulfill his dream of becoming a physician. The book chronicles his determined journey at age 50 through medical training which ultimately leads to the establishment of one of the most successful primary care practices in southern California. The book also explores Dr. Gendler's early years growing up surrounded by poverty in New York during the post depression years. With the support of his family he attends college and leaves the poverty of his early years to create a highly successful electronic business, one which provides NASA with key electronic elements for several of their space missions. The book contains many endearing anecdotes from both his childhood and his adult journey to fulfill his dream. This book would be a great read for someone considering a change in career or for anyone trying to pursue a dream. I highly recommend it!

About the Author Dr. Clifford Daugherty joined Valley Christian Schools in San Jose, California, as president and superintendent in July 1986. Under his leadership, enrollment has tripled, and VCS now serves approximately 2,700 K-12 students, including more than 1500 in the high school. During his tenure, permanent facilities have been constructed for all three schools, with a current value of more than $150 million. Dr. Daugherty also serves as founding president of the Quest Institute for Quality Education and of Neighborhood Christian Preschools in Silicon Valley, was founding principal at Los Altos Christian School, and founded the Santa Clara County Christian School Association. He sits on the Board of Trustees of William Jessup University. In addition to Quest for Excellence, he has authored its sequel, The Quest Continues, and Fly With Your Dreams.

Dr. Daugherty received his B.S. in English Literature, Bible and Theology from Bethany College, his M.A. in Public School Administration from San Jose State University and his Ed.D. in Private School Administration and Special Education from the University of San Francisco. He holds lifetime California and ACSI Teaching and Administrative credentials.

He and his wife, Kris, have two children and five grandchildren.

A LITTLE PIECE HERE, A LITTLE PIECE THERE By Robin Leigh Morgan This review is for the second of two KINDLE Edition of books written by the author I recently received through a giveaway on LibraryThing.com and the following is my honest opinion.Not only did Edmund Kemper, whose story is told in the pages of this book, become a sexual serial killer of six young co-eds; and due to his depraved indifference he also murdered members of his own family: his paternal grandparents, his shrewd cruel mother and her best friend.Killing those six co-ed wasn’t enough, he chopped up his victims and scattered their parts throughout various remote areas around Santa Cruz. And in order to quell his morbid desire to fulfill his sexual fantasies, he used their heads in the process.Instead of reading this story in a helter-skelter manner as you would have if you had read the events surrounding the events of this heinous crime in a newspaper or watched it on television/cable, Mr. Rosewood, has once again taken us back through the book’s pages to a story which had gripped the nation for months, in a proficient manner, adding information about this individual’s psyche along the way.Having written numerous items for a community newspaper, I can understand and appreciate the efforts the author has made in putting everything in the organized and insightful manner; I’m giving this book 5 STARS.

I enjoy reading about true crime, but don't have the time to devote to long works. This short book contained all the necessary information, along with plenty of gory details, without boring filler. I loved how the author interspersed the story with quotes from the killer himself - it really added to the content. Much, much better than most of the quick true crime books on Kindle.

Pass this review by if you don't want a few details.This story is not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for real insight here into why this man committed these heinous acts, you won't find much explanation. If you are seeking a lot of background fluff, it isn't here. No references to other documents here. None of the above is criticism, merely stating facts.This is a raw account of what Kemper did, the reasons he gave and the names of those he is known to have killed. The writing is solid, there are almost too many details at times about the killings and what was done with the remains.He passed himself off as a slightly odd but normal person, typical of psychopathic people. He had a bad childhood, bad adulthood and blames everything on his mother. He was a necrophiliac and self-proclaimed cannibal.Want to know why you shouldn't get in the car with strangers? This is the book to define that.

Her mother might also be a teensy bit angry about the medallion Pru swiped from the attic--a medallion that glows lime green and has an oddly hypnotic, holographic effect when Pru holds it in her hand. A simple blink is all it takes to yank Pru from the car with her dad into a world of hurt. She awakens in 2305 to find herself pinned under what's left of CHRONOS headquarters, thanks to a recent terrorist attack. Their prime suspect? Her mother, Katherine Shaw. And everyone wants to know how Pru got her hands on a CHRONOS key. Pru is convinced that the key is the answer to all her problems. She'll use it to stop her mother, fix her relationship with Deb, and even restore CHRONOS, so that her new friend Tate can return to the job he loves. She can't do it alone, however. Fortunately, she finds Saul Rand, and he's more than willing to help.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful, Keep Them Coming By Bill Matthews The saga of the Chronos Files continues with this complex and entrancing novella. Any prospective reader will certainly want to read the earlier stories before reading this one. And, once you have finished this one, you'll be ready for October to come when the next and possibly the last will be available. I will also predict that you will want to have more stories told from some of the other character's viewpoints, i.e. those we have not yet seen.I also hope that at some point in the not so distance time, all of the stories will be available in a single package - with a list of characters added after each story. In some respects Ms Walker's stories remind me of the Good Doctor's Foundation stories. I remember reading each of these as they became available and then I was able to reread them in a single book, which I still have.I am a fan of Rysa Walker's stories!

A Must for Chronos Series Fans By Pie2Go I read and really enjoyed Time's Echo, the novella written from Kiernan's POV, and was equally impressed with Time's Mirror, the novella written from Pru's POV. Both novellas pack in a lot of information in such a tight space, giving us that "other side" of the story that we learned about in Timebound and Time's Edge. In the full-size novels, as well as Time's Echo, Pru is definitely the antagonist, although we did get glimpses that hers may be a complicated tale. In Time's Mirror Rysa Walker peels back the layers to reveal why this sad woman became who she was. It did get complicated with all the different versions of people, but it is time travel, a very complicated concept. If you are a fan of the Chronos Series, I would definitely recommend reading the two novellas, Time's Echo and Time's Mirror.

Nice Novella By Chloe I really enjoyed reading this, but as with the other CHRONOS files books it left me wanting more.**Warning, possible SPOILERS**I'm not going to give away much, I feel better putting up a warning before discussing any content.I was shocked to find out that chronos blamed Katherine for the bomb. And I don't blame Pru for believing Saul, I almost believed him, until I remembered the Cyrist stuff.

So many claims have been made about incarnations of God in India and all over the world. They are just that, claims and nothing more.Shirdi Sai is nowhere mentioned in The Vedas or the Upanishads. So to elevate him to the status of God and worship him like God is just based on sentiments of his followers. Moreover, God does not have to perfrom miracles like a magician to prove that He is God.
