By Pat This book is a reflection of Caryn's thoughts, experiences and day to day life. Caryn’s skillful writing guides you through her family journey starting as a young teenager being uprooted and going on a cross country family car ride and eventually settling in Minnesota where adulthood became more of a roller coaster ride. Life goes on, we all know that. Disaster, illnesses, surgery, critical care, autism…… and for Caryn (will you be Bitter or Better?) it’s her basis to meet and explore people she writes about in her Pioneer Press columns who have endured and stepped up to make a difference in life. A very thought provoking book.

By ConnieA Caryn has been to the top of the hill too many times—several major family illnesses, husband’s early death, and an autistic son. What makes her storytelling so fantastic is the wonderful word pictures she creates. We read through smiles, tears, ah-ha’s, and “there but the grace of God go I” feelings.Her very honest personal story is an important preface to the rest of the book built around the human connectedness of her St. Paul Pioneer Press columns. We know her compassion, her story, her challenges—and how she relates to others is very precious. Much is based on when she unwillingly became part of the freakin’ widows club.Sullivan writes of a family’s memory-building moments—without email, cells, texts or Internet, but of being together. Many of her stories are about paying it forward, and those who do that because they can, and make it a priority. She asks in many ways: do you step back or forward when things happen? Are you a true friend when one is needed? Our responses to challenges, the bitter to better she bases her book on—is what distinguishes and defines us.Would be an excellent read for a book club with questions she provides.

It's her uplifting and compelling story of a difficult upbringing, the challenges of caring for a son with autism, her journey through a breast cancer diagnosis, a daughter's illness and bone marrow transplant, and the unthinkable death of her husband. Plus, the inspiring stories of many other remarkable people.But, it's more than that, really....it speaks to how difficulties that happened to regular people, dramatically changed their hearts, souls and direction of their lives. Who is this book for?? Those who have had loss, the worries for a child with struggles or an illness... OR those who know someone that has a heavy heart...how can we best reach out to support, love and help them carry their burden.

By Wonderful Product Review Corner I use to own and operate two online dating services and I am a single female! So I read this just to see what a man's point of view for creating the perfect male profile. Wonderful tips in here and not to mention there are a lot of comical references that we online daters have experienced. Maybe a companion to the would be one for Women! Also there are a several more completely free dating services out there not listed in here. Just a thought. I might also suggest actually inserting actually photo's in the ebook showing the examples of your recommendations (Do and Don't). One final thought. Find more bad meeting stories from others. Kept me laughing to read your experiences. Thanks for the read. I enjoyed.

By Dan Glover Author Frank DiCarlo has written a must-read book for any man entering the online dating scene for the first time. He explains all the ins and outs of building your profile, uploading great pictures, and interacting with the woman who most interests you. If you've ever experienced the frustration of seeing someone you'd really like to meet only to have them ignore your entreaties, this is the book for you. Buy it, read it, and enact Mr. DiCarlo's lessons. You can thank me later.

By Likedit Call me naive, I am very new to the internet dating game and there weren't even internet sites when I was dating, but before reading this book most of the problems would not have occurred to me at all. If someone says something I just take it at face value, this was a real eye-opener and I'm glad that I read it before jumping in the pool. It's also very useful in the information it gives on getting noticed on the site and not just being another same-faced drone.

From the remarkable ‘Prologue’ onwards I was gripped by this book, devouring it in one session.I’ve read many books about WW2 life - in the RAF or as a Prisoner Of War. This great book has both these topics and much more besides. It has an overall quality to match the very highest of the genre. Here I’m thinking of Guy Gibson’s ‘Enemy Coast Ahead’ or Paul Brickhill’s ‘Reach For The Sky’.The author was clearly a courageous man – but tells his story with modesty and a generous helping of Service humour. ‘Rescued By The Enemy: My Battle For Survival’ is more than just a punchy title, it is a real part of Tom’s remarkable memories.Highly Recommended.

About the Author Halfway through her time at Harvard Law School, Danielle Singleton realized that her true calling in life was writing books. She finished her first novel, Safe & Sound, while still in law school. Danielle has since published three more books: Do No Harm, The Enemy Within, and The Containment Zone. Her fifth book, Price of Life, will be released June 2015. When not writing, Danielle enjoys reading the works of other authors, watching sports, and playing with her nephew and her dog. Being a lawyer is her day job. Danielle lives in Georgia.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. One Of The Best By Elizabeth81091 This book is simply amazing. It is inspiring, horrifying, uplifting, saddening and eye opening all at once. Readers will definitely step into a world so unimaginable that is also so real. I especially appreciate that the author donates some of the proceeds to help people enslaved in human trafficking. I love the advice from one of the characters in the book who exhorts others to not only inform people about human trafficking but to do something about it as well. If this doesn't inspire each reader to do something to help victims of human trafficking, I don't know what will! Excellent read.

It was done while keeping an appropriateness in the scenes without going graphic like so many books and movies do in todays cult By Atticus This book was really thought provoking. It exposes the immense tragedy of the human sex trafficking industry....and for what it really is--slavery. This subject is one that doesn't get much exposure in the traditional media, given the circumstances and extent of the problem. The author really brings this front and center where you feel the experience first hand and see just how soul crushing it can be for the victims. It was done while keeping an appropriateness in the scenes without going graphic like so many books and movies do in todays culture. And as we all love positive stories, it brings redemption to the narrative. Unfortunately not all stories in this world of the sex trade end in redemption. Human evil will never be eliminated. But for the victims in these circumstances at this very moment, hopefully this book is just one of the many pieces of God's grace that will expose and reduce its influence to as little as possible this side of eternity. Well done!

Yes, I had heard about child sex trafficking/slavery but never to this extent. All my knowledge has been from watching the news, but the news does not take you into this world. Miss Singleton takes you into the horrific world of what is actually going on today in our country and the entire world. Thank you for the education. She has put her research into a captivating story that will bring you to your knees. You will be in shock, you will cry, you will think about what is “really” going on around you, and you will thank God you do not have to experience this reality. This book will not let you put it down. A real page-turner. If you have a young child, hug her and keep her close.

About the Author

Simon McBeath is a life-long motorsport enthusiast and has been a competitor for over 30 years. Press officer for Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb, where he is also a Hillclimb School instructor, Simon also regularly contributes as a freelance writer to Racecar Engineering and other magazines.

Aerodynamics articles have always been a speciality of Racecar Engineering, with its monthly column, 'Aerobytes,' launched in 2003, carrying out wind tunnel and CFD studies on a wide range of competition cars.

Simon also provides an aerodynamics advisory service, SM AeRo Techniques.

Wilem Toet is the Head of Aerodynamics at Sauber F1.
