Up close and personal By Olive Redberry Wonderful stories that truly give the reader a kaleidoscopic peek into the lives, loves and adventures of the fascinating people of Kauai. Volume 2 is a welcomed addition for the many fans who have been wanting MORE! Pam Brown is great at seeking out the unusual and varied as well as gaining the trust of the seemingly ordinary folks and presenting us lucky readers with their extraordinary tales. A must read for visitors and locals alike!

I thought I knew a lot about this Island until I read Kauai Stories 2 and Kauai Stories 1. The ghost stories in Kauai stories 2 were interesting and I simply loved the stories in the Love Of The Ocean chapter. There is a touching story of a father saved by his son in the ocean. Shopping at the farmers markets became more meaningful after reading about people who live to farm and what it means to them. This could be called Kauai stories with Aloha because these stories really touched my heart. Pamela Varma Brown wove these stories together wonderfully. If you love Kauai or eve the thought of it you'll love these books!

By Denis Pamela has done it again with Kauai Stories 2.This time focussing on different aspects of the more contemporary life and times of Kauai.For me, the stories which hit home the most :: they centred around "Rescue Tubes" ..... despite the rescue tubes and the videos at baggage claim, over 230 people have drowned since 1990..... over 150 being tourists..... so the stories in the book had a special meaning.Loved the quote in the book also "You help people, before they realize they need help."
