Hardy has brought us a new set of characters and placed them on a path skewed with a whole nother level of dramatic twists and turns. And please believe that she has not lost a step in her writing game. Her pen game is still golden, whether she brings her readers the old or the new. The dynamics of her writing still electrifies and gets the blood to pumping and the feet to stomping! Our author's superior talent for weaving a storyline has not diminished one iota. Her fan base never ever wavers with negatively anxious thoughts when we hear that she is releasing another one of her extraordinary novels; for we know that our supreme anticipation will be rewarded a hundred fold. And what a titillating reward you have in store once you delve into this latest offering.The heat is immediately generated between our two latest romance characters, who have been brought into existence for our reading pleasure. These characters are Chance Michaels and Aiden Scott. With words like "Tonight, I'm gonna be your man. If you let me, I'm gonna give you everything you need, and show you exactly what you've been missing", Lawd, how can you not want to take a walk on the wild side of Ms. Hardy's vividly erotic imagination? She never leaves us hanging in any area, and has come out with the expectation of keeping the heavy weight championship belt of erotic romance suspense. But make no mistake, this book is not just an erotic rendering with no basis to its plot. Quite the opposite! We not only get an intriguing storyline, spiced with emotionally charged bedroom scenes, but we also get various eye orgasms whenever a descriptive narrative is written to give us a visual of what the characters are involved in. I just love this aspect of her writing and always have a feeling of completeness whenever I treat myself to one of the best in the industry of romance writing. Her creativity knows no bounds and she allows her fans to indulge regularly at her table of appetizing delights.I just love how we are allowed to progress into the development of the love affair of two individuals, meeting by chance with no expectations of a future encounter. But what twists and turns we encounter which will deviate from that initial meet and greet. When I thought I had the intricacies of the seemingly simple narrative figured out, I soon find out that I was headed in the wrong direction. A deceiving curve ball catapulted me smack dab in the middle of an alternative universe. A universe filled with exciting high and lows in which I became fully engaged by turning the pages quicker than a speeding bullet to get to the culminating meaty section of this exciting literary experience. I felt like a kid in a candy shop while feasting my eyes on each written sentence. I found myself eagerly riding the wave of euphoria created by one of the best writers in the game. My emotions were held hostage within the confines of this gifted authors' palms and she squeezed each sensory gland to its utmost sensation.I loved every and all things concerning this stupendously exciting read. Every damned minute I spent enthralled with this plot was an invigorating and eye opening experience. Eyes opened wide looking out for any and all golden pen revelations penned by the uniqueness encompassed in the caverns of Ms. S. K. Hardy's mind. Keep on rocking and we will continue to rock with you. Love this book and looking forward to more of your pearls!
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Good Book but Too Familiar By BookLover4Life_DG Let me start by saying that I did enjoy the book. I'm also a big fan of the author. I've read all of her books and I guess that's why this one seemed too familiar. The booked seemed to be a little bit of the Barron Family/ Angelo LaCroix & his wife Nicki with a pinch of the Patel Family all rolled up into one book. Kind of the same plots, same romantic hook up, same "business acumen", same family connections... Blah,blah. But because I love all of the other books & characters, this one kept my attention. I would have much preferred that the author just wrote book three of the Barron series or even that Raven & Hawk Patel story I've been hoping would be released.

However, this time, I had to put the breaks on life to write about this wonderful novel. Very few times do we get a 'romance' novel about courage and the journey to find an 'authentic' self; thus, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to say thank you to SK for this novel and for Chance and Aiden.I read a lot of reviews on this novel, and I agree with all of the positive reviews. But I must say I completely disagree with the reviews that paint Chance as a weak woman. One of the best things I like about SK is her ability to make her novels about more than just the man. She paints strong, independent, and self-assured women (and I HAVE READ EVERY LAST ONE OF HER BOOKS). Because this her M.O., I think quite a lot of us were a bit thrown off by Chance's 'needy and wanting' personality. Even I was at first...until I began to read into the novel. And until I began to see that this was a fictional novel but such a realistic one. The struggle was real in this novel. Chance fought really hard to get her life back. Yes, she took a minute to find herself, but she did! Her journey to self was very cathartic for me.Normally, when I walk away from a romance novel I crave the man that is described in the novel. Don't get me wrong Aiden was a great man. His ability to see and understand Chance...and his ability to walk away from her to give her time to grow was SEXY AS HELL. But at the end of this novel, I craved Chance's spirit and her determination.I'm glad her journey to self took a minute..and I'm glad S.K. wrote a novel that depicted a journey that many women (like me) have taken an are the stronger for it.This novel is the reason why I don't care how long S.K. takes to write a novel...her stories are life lines...and I thank her for all of them.Read the novel with an open mind. Chance is not a weak woman...in fact, she is far from it.Second Chances!!! Great read!Many blessings readers!!Iris Malika
