About the Author I'm a person of no particular distinction. I've anonymously created and developed some of the most widely viewed internet content in the world. I once bowled a 299. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Inspiring By Judi An honest account of friendship,growing and learning through adversity. To write about your family issues growing up with such plain honesty is very brave. I am hopeful for another book to pick up where this left off.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Terrific Read! Well written coming of age story!!! By Tavia Hassani I found Anywhere But Home hard to put down!! I immensely enjoyed Cristian's stories from the same era that I grew up in!! I could relate to the fact that we didn't have cell phones and had to actually see or call our friends if we wanted to hang out and spending hours on the cordless phone talking to friends!! I especially loved his stories about being able to have the freedom to walk around the neighborhood and hang out with your friends...its so very different for children to have any autonomy these days. Unfortunately we still have plenty of child neglect and abuse, which is the toughest subject in Anywhere But Home. I found it painful to read about the abuse his mother and brother did to him. These are two people who should never have hurt him like that...but because of their own messed up pysche's chose to do so with serious results to Cristians upbringing. I certainly hope there is a follow-up book so I can read more about his life after high school and leaving the nest!!!

Cristian's journey through his childhood was rocky and engaging, as well had me cringing at some points (due to the shear volume of physical injury he has experienced) and laughing out loud. Can't wait to see what the next chapter of his life reveals!
