"Just a Thought Away" is a non-fiction memoir written by Michael Ricardi, a survivor of the deadly Station nightclub fire that took place in West Warwick, Rhode Island, on February 20, 2003. In the end, 100 people would perish, including Ricardi's friend, Jim Gahan. They were in attendance that night to interview Great White's lead singer, Jack Russell, for their college radio show. In the book, Ricardi takes you on a journey that chronicles how the two became friends and how they found their way to The Station on that tragic night. He also recalls experiences that occurred after the fire, which tested his strength and provided him with the will to carry on. It is a must-read for a wide variety of folks, including those who have lost someone close to them and/or experienced tragedy first-hand.

About the Author Michael Ricardi resides in Worcester, MA, having lived there all his life. He graduated from Nichols College in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is currently employed as a supervisor for a medical software company in Framingham, MA. This is his first book.

Touching, moving, inspirational By Bob Gray Brunelle Right when I found out there was a book written about the Rhode Island Station Nightclub Fire, the first thing I did was head to Amazon to buy my copy. I didn't know what to expect but I had faith that the book would tell an amazing story leading up to that unfortunate night in February of 2003. Let me tell you that this was one of the best $15 purchases I have ever made. The emotion, the journey, the years before and after, the story, the bands, the music, forced me to keep reading every chapter. I could not put this book down. But the best part about this book is the way Mike memorializes his friend Jim. It was selfless, intellectual, funny and touching throughout. I had to hold back tears. I hope this book had closure for Mike. It certainly makes you value how short life really is.

Highly Recommended By Angela Conforti This book reads like your best friend candidly recounting the events of his college years, except his story offers so much more than a typical college experience. Whether you're laughing, crying, or reading the words with an ominous pit in your stomach, you WILL be turning the pages. You will leave this book with a new perspective and a renewed appreciation for life. If this story doesn't affect you, check your pulse.

As a survivor of the well known "Station Nightclub Fire " , the author reminisces on the ride before, during and after the tragic event; with the memory of his late friend by his side every step of the way . Definitely a thumbs up for a true life read and recommendation !
