I became interested in Margeurite's after reading Leonie Freida's biography of Catherine de Medici. I then read Margeurite's memoirs and this H Noel Williams book built upon her memoirs, providing a well balanced appraisal of Margot's strengths and weaknesses. The book glossed over her last 20 years, so I'm looking forward to reading Nancy Goldstone's Rival Queens to see if this has some new information from a more modern point of view.
