Two determined career women cross paths in the high-stakes world of media and public relations. One, competing for success in business, is brutally murdered. The other, fighting for recognition in the good-old-boy news world, is stalked by the prime suspect as she pursues the truth. Television reporter Grace Gleason covers the gruesome killing for her station, joining forces with the detective trying to unravel the thorny case. But shifty, bar-crawling suspect Udo Holthaus wriggles off the hook when a politically ambitious DA refuses to prosecute. Hell-bent to get revenge for Grace's tenacious reporting, Holthaus turns the tables on her by targeting everything she holds dear. Moves along splendidly; interesting characters By Paper & Ink Book Lover I don't usually like books where we know "whodunit" from the get-go, but this one handles that situation nicely and moves along very well. We learn a lot about each of the characters and that helps, too. The local TV news business serves as a very interesting backdrop for the story as well.

Grace begins her Dallas career with hot-headed, fearless ambition. She has no idea how much more she will learn about crime reporting and develops into a thorough, brave reporter with a true love for uncovering injustice. I can't wait for more novels about her. I will recommend this book to my adult education class.

By SHERYL JONES I am not a fan of courtroom/trial books but those scenes in this book were well written and had to come from some first hand experience, as do the episodes of reporting, etc. I found I did not want as much back story as the writers included for each character, but noticed I did feel as if I knew each character well. This sometimes leads to the reader guessing ahead of time what it going to happen. However, like all really well written mystery/crime books, I guessed wrong several times. Yet, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and have the second one to look forward to reading. The preface of that book is just as good as the one in this book. The courtroom drama and reporter coverage was totally believable and that makes for an enjoyable book. You will not find yourself wondering if this or that could really happen because, as already stated, the authors based the book on real experiences. I look forward to reading The Blue Wall and hope the authors continue to write crime/reporting novels.
