Two years ago Brooke McCoy had it all. A successful writing career, a gorgeous fiancé and a beautiful New York penthouse apartment that overlooked Central Park. She was on top of the world. But that all came crashing down when she received a phone call that changed her life forever. After losing her fiancé Jake to an aneurysm, Brooke was still struggling with moving on. The overwhelming feeling of emptiness only growing bigger with her still living in the home she once shared with Jake. Ready to start afresh, Brooke decides to move to Seattle away from the only family she has left for a change of scenery, hoping this will be the change she needs to finally let go of her past and start living again. Brian Gamble is a cocky, womanizing cop from Seattle. After being burned by love once before, Brian now enjoys the sweeter things in life like blondes, redheads, and brunettes. Winning them over with his jaw droopingly good looks and charm, only to leave them in the wind the moment the condom hits the trash. But as much as he tries to deny it he wants more, and all the women in the world can’t fill the void that his ex left in his heart. But one fateful night Brooke and Brian’s worlds collide, sparking a hot game of cat and mouse leading them to question their theories on love. Can two people broken by love, find happiness again? And what happens when love becomes the ultimate gamble?

I really wanted to like this book and was expecting more. I think the story line had potential between ALL the sex scenes. Don't get me wrong I love a hot steamy book but I felt she went over board. I am not a writer and can only imagine all the work that goes into writing but I do love to read and I think this book could be a lot better if she divulged a little more into the lives of each character in the book.

"Officer Brian Friggin Gamble" By ninaluvzbooks 5/5 hot and steamy stars for the hottest book boyfriend in the form of Officer Brian Gamble.I mean OMG! I loved this book so much. Brooke and Brian were absolutely amazing and I more than enjoyed their story. It starts off kinda sad, but Andrews jumps right into the story and it gets feisty pretty damn fast when Brooke bangs on Brian's door in the middle of the night yelling at him to keep the noise down. From that point on we watch as they each go from hating one another to falling head over heels in love with each other. It was sweet and hot as hell, there were definitely some parts that made me laugh, and of course I almost cried. This book was beautifully written with plenty of ups and downs for both characters as they work through their issues together. I also liked getting the story from both Brooke and Brian's POV. It helped to gain a great perspective from both these amazing characters.I love..love...LOVED this book so much. My two favorite parts are definitely when they got stuck on the Ferris Wheel and at the precinct. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

By Well Read Nana 1/24 To be perfectly honest it was not the type of book that I was hoping for. I thought it was going to be a love story of two people who lost their soul mates and where trying to live and hopefully find Love again. This story was just unoriginal and a cheesy redention of what I thought it was going to be. I gave up at the 40 percent mark. Both main character's where unlikeable in their own way.I was hoping for a lost and found love story but what I found was a unlikeable story. Don't get me wrong I'm no prude and a sexy storyline does not bother me at all, I actually enjoy that type of romance fiction but this book had no romance, it read kind of "smutty only" instead which I am not a fan of.That's why I gave up at the 40 percent mark, with his "mean streak" womanizer talk and her constantly saying " I need to get laid already" , just so uninteresting of I story. The author also didn't even remember her own explanations of why the main character picked Seattle to move to when she decided to leave New York. First the author tells us that she decided to move to Seattle because her and her dad and brother went there together when she was a kid to visit family and just loved their family time vacation spent in Seattle so much it was the perfect choice for a start over life move. Than the author has the two main characters having a decision about what made her decide to move from New York to Seattle and she explains this whole big drunk/crying sob story about her having a horrible date, locking herself in her dead boyfriend's office and her throwing a dart onto his prize map and deciding wherever it landed that's where she was moving too and it landed on Seattle and that's how she came to relocate there. WHAT !!!!!!! how can a author tell two different stories to explain the reason for the move of the main character ????? I mean talk about a rookie mistake, when the author can't even tell her story correctly and keep a memory of her own book straight then I am out, sorry that's a deal breaker for me with reading a story that can't even keep its own story accurate. I'm Done.
