Ellis finally finds out who his mate is, the mystery woman he saw one day near Jarrett and Addie's house. He's searched for her since that night, but hasn't been able to find her. His whole attitude has changed during the search. He's irritable and pretty close to losing his mind. He needs to find her. She's his other half and he's incomplete without her.The book starts off with a prologue that gives us a glimpse of what Dawn went through as a child/teenager. This poor woman was literally treated like an animal. Yes, she's a shifter, but she's still human and deserves to be treated with love and respect. Unfortunately, her Uncle and his wife didn't get that memo. Jerks. They took her in as a young child when her Mom, the Uncle's sister, went to jail. Now, I know you're thinking that was sweet of them. But, it wasn't. It was selfish. They only did it once they realized they'd get money for taking care of her. Aren't they just rainbows and glitter? *she says sarcastically* LOL Now you see why I called them jerks earlier.Dawn gets a chance to run away (yes, I'm going to show my age and admit that I have "Runaway" by Bon Jovi running through my head) and obviously, she has to take it. What she's going through isn't living, she's just enduring. She gets away and thank goodness fate steps in at this point in the form of Addie. Addie's gifts allows her to know things and she knew that Dawn would need her and eventually she'll learn that Dawn will be very important to someone Addie knows, her brother-in-law, Ellis.Dawn has been living in a secluded house on Addie's property for years. However, the house needs some repairs thanks to a bad storm. Addie asks Ellis to take some trusted employees of his construction crew and repair the damages. The one catch, basically they can't let anyone know about the woman living there. (Addie has reasons.)Ellis and Dawn finally meet and it doesn't go well. Dawn is understandably suspicious of anyone new. She doesn't trust them to be sincere, because she fully expects them to be there on her Uncle's behalf. As if constantly worrying that her evil Uncle will find her, her house needing fixed, being suspicious of everyone, and meeting your mate isn't enough, it seems like Ellis may be getting his own pack and Dawn will have to adjust to pack life, something that not only is a brand new experience for her, but will also be learned as the alpha female. Apparently, Dawn is fully embracing the "go big or go home" saying. LOLWhat follows is a great story of Dawn learning to live again, to trust again, to be true to herself, and to fall in love. Ellis is by her side the whole time, as is the rest of the Emerson family. They show her that she is loved and she has a family that will do anything for her. It was beautiful to watch Dawn flourish under Ellis's love and attention. Plus, there were some revelations that blew my mind about her history and family. I did not see some of those coming.I do recommend reading this series in order to ensure full enjoyment of the characters and their stories. Honestly, I recommend anything that has Kathi's name attached to it. She is just that good in my opinion. I'm already counting down to her next release.*sigh*

Something is always going wrong it seems and he needs a break. He's also plagued by a repeating dream of a dark haired beauty and has a feeling this woman is his mate. When he takes a temporary job fixing the roof on a house on the property owned by his new sister-in-law....little does he know what is in store for him when he gets there.Dawn Whitfield is on the run from abusive relatives that took her in after her mother was arrested. After years of abuse, she finally escapes. She is befriended by Addie and she shelters her. Years later, she too is having dreams of a wolf shifter searching for her. Being very frightened of all strangers, when she sees the young man watching her, little does she know her life is about to change in a good way.What a very sweet love story for this young couple Ellis & Dawn. See how Ellis is able to win over his lovely dark haired wolf mate and experience the danger that waits for them both in this amazing paranormal romance!

Eliis and Dawn =) By Lourin With each brother that finds his mate, my heart breaks more and more for the trouble the females had to go through.Dawn is a true shifter. She's been abused by her aunt and uncle since she went to live with them as a child. After many attempts of running away, she finally succeeds when she's 21. She's scared of everybody, sure they are working for her uncle to return her to him.Ellis is going crazy. He dreams of the woman meant to be his mate, but has no face or name to go on. When his sister-in-law requests he go fix a house, he knows he has found his mate. Now he just has to show her what she means to him and make her trust him.In a lot of Kathi's books the villians of the story really do make me laugh. They tend to be a bit more on the stupid side LOL! However, I really did feel bad for this one at the end of the story. Never thought I'd say that!
