Must Read for Family or Professionals Working with People with Traumatic Brain Injury By wagsk The author of this book was a Nurse Practioner prior to being involved in a car accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. This book relates her recovery following the accident. Several perspectives are given in the book: those of the patient; her husband; her mother; her best friend; her sister-in-law; and a friend who housed the author while she attended outpatient rehabilitation. These different perspectives shine a light on how TBI patients feel and are treated as they recover from their injury. As a speech-language pathologist who has worked with those who have suffered TBI, I think this book should be recommended reading for family members and professionals who are helping these people to recover.
