Raw, Authentic, and Inspirational Story of Survival By BrendaS I was privileged to assist with the editing and publication of this book, but I am posting my review as one who read it cover to cover (multiple times). This transparently written, true-life account of Brad Fite's service to our country and his journey since encountering the effects of an IED in Afghanistan in 2010 is an intense story of survival. I highly recommend this book for all who face difficulties (which is pretty much all of us) and for men and women alike. I read it aloud to my 84-year-old mother, and she concluded our final reading with, "Everyone needs to read this." Some of the material is pretty raw in places, and there is some language and violence, but all of it is within the context of the reality that Brad Fite is willing to share with great authenticity in this book. I've now worked with over 160 authors, and I truly hope and feel that this is not the last we will hear from the phenomenally talented pen and heart of Brad Fite!

It is a saga of rehabilitation and redemption, hiding nothing as he claws his way back to a full life. Brad Fite's story is breath-taking in it's honestly, awe-inspiring in it's accuracy. This first-person account should be required reading for every citizen so they can clearly understand what we are asking our troops to do in our name. Brad, and thousands of others, have paid a tremendous price to protect us and they continue to be killed and wounded in distant lands in order to keep us safe. We owe them so much more than a pat on the back and muttering "Thank you for your service". We owe them our attention and understanding, we owe them our devotion in helping them come back again, in one piece, just as Brad ultimately has done. Buy this book, read it and weep, and then smile at the strength of his bravery.
